DIY Picture Schedule

DIY Picture Schedule

Have you noticed more kiddo meltdowns while you’ve been spending more time together? Or do you simply need some structure in your (long) day?

Visual schedules are one way to help children understand what to expect throughout the day. Your little one can set the plan with you in the morning, refer to it between activities, and re-cap before bedtime!

  • Pictures of Your Kiddo(s) doing activities
  • Cardboard
  • Velcro Strips
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Line cardboard with Velcro strips and place velcro on backs of cut-out pictures. We use extra construction paper for color and reinforcement.

Allowing your kiddo to decorate and help may increase interest and help them take ownership!

Check out “5 tips to help you create a daily play routine“, written by Cindy Hovington, Ph.D, founder of Curious Neuron and host of the Curious Neuron Podcast. She has excellent information on the types of play and how to structure your day.
