Neighborhood Flower Walk

Neighborhood Flower Walk

Walking around the neighborhood has been a staple in our routine since “shelter-in-place” started. Getting Coco motivated and excited to do the walk daily has not always been easy. Coming up with play activities to accompany the walk has been helpful.

One activity that has been a big hit recently is to fill up a spray bottle and water the neighbor’s flowers. There are so many developmental benefits to this super simple activity. We work on walking and talking, scanning her environment, describing the flowers, and using the spray bottle is a great way to exercise those little hand muscles!

For this activity all you need is a spray bottle. We used the spray bottle made by Melissa and Doug in their gardening set. It’s the perfect size for busy little preschool hands.

Perform activities recommended by Walk, Talk, Play at your own risk with appropriate adult supervision provided. Walk, Talk, Play is not responsible for any injury caused while performing these play activities.
