Wine Cork Boats

Wine Cork Boats

Yesterday we made boats out of pool noodles, and today we used something we had (and we know you have) around the house.

Materials:

  • Wine Corks
  • Rubber Bands
  • Toothpicks
  • Foam Paper
  • Scissors

Steps

  1. Tie 3 wine corks together with rubber bands to make base of boat
  2. Cut triangle out of foam paper to form a sail
  3. Attach sail to base of boat using toothpick

Your little one can help you by counting out the corks, stretching the rubber bands around them to address fine motor skills, cutting the triangles to address visual motor skills, handing you supplies as you name them, and describing what they want their boat to look like.

Once your boat has set sail, use a spray bottle or water blaster to propel your boat in a race in the bathtub or the pool!
